Mercrusier Sterndrives

Propeller hardware for Mercruiser is available in both the new and old hardware styles. Our hardware selection includes thrust washers, receiver washers, tab washers and nylock nuts. We also stock the new Flo-Torq hub system that is standard on all newer Mercruiser propellers.

Propeller Shaft Keystock

Our propeller keystock is sold in 10 inch lengths and has a radius on all the edges. Keystock is available in brass and stainless steel. All keystock requires proper fitting to the propeller shaft. A key that is not properly fit can cause excessive vibration caused by the propeller riding up on the key and not the propeller shaft.

VERY IMPORTANT

When replacing the key in a propeller, fitting is required. A new key must be fitted. Instructions on proper installation will be provided with purchase. An improperly fit key will not allow the propeller to seat on the shaft causing extreme vibration.

Propeller Shaft Castle Nuts

Castle nuts are provided in a heavy hex brass nut with slots cut on the flat sides about 1/3 down from the aft end. This castle nut is disigned to intersect with a stainless steel cotter pin that locks the nut from backing off the shaft. We machine these nuts ourselves because we have not found a reasonable priced wholesale source.

Propeller Shaft Hardware

Complete inboard propeller hardware for attaching a propeller to a inboard propeller shaft. Our hardware includes, a heavy hex full size brass nut, a heavy hex half size jam nut, a standard size brass key and a stainless steel cotter pin.

Canada Metals Propeller Nuts

Martyr (Canada Metals) propeller nuts are a very good way to attach the propeller to the shaft. The slots in the nut allows for a stainless steel cotter pin to assure that it can not loosen. The zinc fits over the nut which provides greater protection from corrosion or electrolysis from destroying the propeller.

Aqualoy 19

Aqualoy 19 is a chromium-nickel stainless steel that's fully austenitic, nonmagnetic and strengthened by a nitrogen addition. Aqualoy 19 is priced competitive with most carbon steel yet have much greater corosion resistance.

We taper thread and key the propeller end of our stock shafting so we can provide our customers with the fastest delivery. We stock nearly all marine transmission couplings in all shaft sizes so should a new coupling be required we have it available.

Aqualoy 22

Aqualoy 22 boat shafting has corrosion resistance equal to or better than most high nickel alloys. Aqualoy 22 is a very smart choice for the pleasure boater that docks the vessel for extended periods of time. This condition can cause random pitting and crevice corrosion. Aqualoy 22 is argueably the best boat shaft money can buy.

Rudder and Trim Tab Anodes

Hull Anodes

The Martyr brand Diver's Dream is a slotted plate with two elongated slots allowing for easy installation on the hull. The plate measures 6" X 12" and is 1/2" thick.

Propeller Shaft Anodes
